Major Special "Blast Valves for Nuclear Power Stations" Prototype Has Passed Appraisal

On February 3, 2018, the prototype of the "blasting valve for nuclear power plant" was approved by China machinery industry association and China general machinery industry association. The prototype is jointly developed by Shanghai institute of nuclear engineering, Dalian Dagao valve Co., LTD, the institute of Chinese chemical materials and institute of engineering physics. The appraisal committee agreed that the prototype of blasting valve has full independent intellectual property rights, fills the domestic blanks, occupies an international leading level, and can be applied in the nuclear power plant.

The appraisal committee is composed of 13 well-known experts from the ministry of environmental protection nuclear and radiation safety center, China nuclear group, CGN, Dalian University of technology and Nanjing University of science and technology. Qizhen Ye is the director of the appraisal committee. Representative of the national ministry of science and technology, of the national energy administration, of the local governments, of the owners' units and R&D units attended the appraisal meeting.

The DN450 is the largest international specification of blasting valve, which has been independently developed in China and has broken through several key design, manufacturing, testing and identification techniques. Key components-cartridge drive, can be operated reliably in high humidity, high temperature and high irradiation in a nuclear plant. This time, we have independently developed the blasting graphite sealing structure, piston seal structure, ensure the realization of the function of safety valve. This valve has overcome the shear cover forging process, ensured the shear cover material performance, and can meet the needs of domestic development and future nuclear power in the world.
