The Biggest Shut-off Valve Body Was Installed Successfully in China
Recently, The shut-off valve body was installed successfully in Qingdao site of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). The body of shut-off valve is biggest in the whole world, which is made for Brazil Floating Production Storage Off-loading and Storage Offshore Project (FPSO).
The shut-off valve is 20 inch, weighing 40 tons, operated by dual actuator. It has 27tons weight of body, That's why it is the biggest shut-off valve body in the world. The traditional hoisting method is not suitable because of largest weight and volume. COOEC decided to hoist by gantry crane after technical studies for many times. This new method totally guarantee safety of valve body and reduced the risk of lifting and shaking. This is not easy, but it is really awesome to install successfully especially for shut-off valve of largest weight and volume.
