A Further Introduction to Bellow Seal Valves

In the previous article, we briefly introduced bellow seal valves. Today, we will discuss further on bellow seal valves.

A bellow seal is connected to the valve stem and the valve bonnet. When the valve open, the bellow will compress. When the valve close, the bellow will expand.

From the perspective of manufacturing, the bellows can be mainly divided into welded bellows and forged bellows. Compared with the forged bellows, the welded bellows have more folds in a unit.

The material of bellows can be SS304, SS316, Inconel 625 and Hastalloy, and they all have a good anti-corrosion performance.

The valves with bellow seal are often globe valves and gate valves. Their internal structure and axial movement of the stem make them suited for bellow seal stem packing.

Bellow seal gate valves or bellow seal globe valves are often used in situations with high vacuum, highly hazardous fluids and expensive fluids.
