Hard Seal Butterfly Valves On Heating Pipes, Yes or No?

The hard seal butterfly valve we see usually is a triple-eccentric butterfly valve. The so-called triple eccentric refers to the relative disposition of the valve shaft and the valve plate within the valve.
Ordinary butterfly valves have one offset — the one between the valve shaft center-line and sealing surface center-line (valve plate centerline).
High-performance double eccentric butterfly valves have another offset that is between the valve shaft center-line and valve center-line (pipeline center-line).
The purpose of the double eccentric structure is to disconnect the valve plate and sealing vice, reducing frictions between the during valve switch.
The triple eccentric butterfly valve adds a unique eccentric cone to the above double eccentric. The third offset is the geometry of the seating surface, creating a type of cone shape of the disc and seat. This cone angle, along with the two eccentric shaft offsets, allows the disc to seal against the seat with no friction, achieving the tightest shut-off with the least amount of torque.
Three eccentric metal seal butterfly valves can be used in the heating pipeline, but more often in the arteries and the main branch of the heating system where the diameter of pipelines reaches DN300 or more.
