Installation and Applications of Forged Gate Valves

As a kind of gate valve, forged steel gate valve has been widely used in many important and routine fields all over the world. All gate valves made from forging materials are collectively referred to as forged steel gate valves. Forged steel gate valves are used to cut off or connect the medium in the pipeline. Different materials can be used for water, steam, oil, acetic acid, oxidizing medium, urea and other media.

The Forged Steel Gate Valve has three body cover connection designs, as follows:
The first: the body bonnet is welded and connected with the forged steel gate valve. The valve designed according to this connection form has a fully welded seal between the valve body and the valve bonnet, and the advantage is that there is no external leakage.
The second: the body bonnet bolts connect the forged steel gate valve. The valve body and the valve bonnet are connected by bolts and sealed by wound gaskets for valves designed according to this connection form. The advantage is that it is easy to maintain.
The third: pressure self-tightening bonnet forged steel gate valve. The valve body and the valve bonnet are connected by screws for valves designed according to this connection form, and the internal pressure is sealed by a self-sealing ring. The advantage is that the greater the internal pressure is, the better the sealing performance becomes.
Instructions for installation and use of forged steel gate valves:
1. For all kinds of manual valves installed on the insulation pipeline, the handles must not be downward.
2. The installation location, height, and direction of import and export must meet the design requirements, and the connection should be firm and tight.
3. The appearance inspection must be carried out before the valve is installed, and the nameplate of the valve should comply with the current national standards.
Most of the forged steel gate valves are designed with reduced bores. Compared with the cast steel gate valves of the same diameter, the flow rate is slightly smaller. However, the pressure and temperature range they withstand are higher than those of cast steel valves, and the sealing performance is much better than that of cast steel gate valves. The medium flow direction is unrestricted like other gate valves.
