How to Choose the Valve According to the Industry? (Part Two)

In the last article, Dervos has introduced how to choose valves in nine industries. This week, we will introduce the last one.
10. Valves for petrochemical equipment
 (1) Oil refining equipment: Most oil refining equipment requires pipeline valves, including gate valves, globe valves, check valves, safety valves, ball valves, butterfly valves and drain valves. Among them, the demand for gate valves accounts for about 80% of the total number of valves.
 (2) Chemical fiber devices: Chemical fiber products mainly include polyester, acrylic and vinylon. The required valves are ball valves and jacketed valves.
 (3) Acrylonitrile devices: The device generally requires valves produced in accordance with API standards. It mainly includes gate valves, globe valves, check valves, ball valves, traps, needle valves, and plug valves. Among them, the demand for gate valves accounts for about 75% of the total valves.
 (4) Synthetic ammonia devices: The synthetic ammonia device mainly requires gate valves, globe valves, check valves, drain valves, butterfly valves, ball valves, diaphragm valves, regulating valves and safety valves. Among them, globe valves account for 53.4% of the total number of valves, gate valves 25.1%, drain valves 7.7%, safety valves 2.4%, and others 11.4%.
 (5) Ethylene devices: The ethylene device is a leading device in petrochemical industry, which requires a wide variety of valves. Gate valves, globe valves, check valves and lift rod ball valves account for the majority.
 (6) Air separation devices: The device mainly requires globe valves, safety valves, check valves, regulating valves, ball valves, butterfly valves and cryogenic valves.
 (7) Polypropylene devices: Polypropylene is a high molecular compound made from propylene by polymerization. The device mainly needs gate valves, globe valves, check valves, needle valves, ball valves and drain valves.
In general, there is a relatively great demand for general-purpose valves in the above 10 industries, such as gate valves, globe valves, check valves, ball valves and butterfly valves.
