Treatment methods for the lack of tightness in valves

Sometimes there are some troublesome problems in the use of the valve. For example, if the valve is not tight, what should we do?

First, the valve sometimes suddenly shuts down, the impurities may be stuck between the sealing surfaces of the valve. At this time, the valve should be slightly opened and closed for several times. They are generally can be eliminated. Otherwise the valve should be checked again.

Second, for valves in the normally open state, when the valve is accidentally closed, the valve stem thread may be rusted, so the valve may not be tight. The valve can be repeatedly switched several times, and the bottom of valve body is struck with a small hammer. Then the valve can be closed, there is no need to be ground and repaired.

Third, for the case where we try to switch multiple times and the valve is still not tight, the sealing surface may has been damaged by the corrosion or scratched by the particles in the medium. This situation should be reported for repair.

Fourth, if the valve stem and the valve disc are not well connected, the stem and the stem nut must be lubricated to ensure flexible valve switching. It is necessary to have a formal plan to strengthen the maintenance of the valve.
